Salma Public School is situated in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. The school runs classes from pre-primary to Grade 5 currently and has approximately 350 students. In National Education Policy (2020), play-based, theme-centric classroom activities focusing on holistic development have been proposed. The school reached out to ASER for an assessment of its students and thereafter a training of its teachers.

Baseline assessment in the school was conducted for Grade 2 to 5 using the ASER tool. The teachers were trained on the tool to conduct the assessment. Based on the baseline assessment results, school teachers were trained on the Teaching at Right Level (TaRL) method developed by Pratham. School teachers for Grade 3 to 5 implemented the TaRL package with assistance from the Patham team in Uttar Pradesh.
