The concept of ‘Life Skills’ has gained widespread interest in recent years, both in India and elsewhere. The ‘Voices front the Ground’ (Voices) initiative from the Life Skills Collaborative was designed to explore what young people and those closest to them- parents and teachers- think about these skills and their importance. In Year 1, Voices surveyed adolescents, youth, parents and teachers to answer the following questions:
1. To understand the level of awareness that young people, parents, and teachers currently have about life skills and their perceptions about the same.
2. To generate some public goods, such as survey tools and easily accessible data, that can be useful to institutions and organisations as they undertake similar efforts in their own geographies.
