Voices: Insights from the Year 1 survey

The concept of ‘Life Skills’ has gained widespread interest in recent years, both in India and elsewhere. The ‘Voices front the Ground’ (Voices) initiative from the Life Skills Collaborative was designed to explore what young people and those closest to them- parents and teachers- think about these skills and their importance. In Year 1, Voices surveyed adolescents, youth, parents and teachers to answer the following questions:

  1. How do adolescents, youth, parents and teachers across various institutions understand and describe life skills?
  2. What skills do adolescents, youth, parents and teachers across various institutions consider important to succeed in life?
